But, he has left one hell of a posthumous testimonial to his immense talent on bass. The very latest (and perhaps last) Starcastle effort, "Song Of Times", is teeming with bass guitar excellence on practically every track.

Song of Times was released in 2007, three years after the death of bassist and founding member Gary Strater. It featured members from all eras of the group, as well as artwork by Annie Haslam and Ed Unitsky. [1] It was very well received by fans and critics alike.
Shortly after bassist/vocalist and founding member Gary Strater would relocate to California and begin to reinvent his own musical vision. Ultimately Gary decided to reform a new more modern version of the band. In 1984 Mark met Gary while busy launching his new band 'Now'.
