Furtherwick Park School was a comprehensive co-educational senior school for 11- to 16-year-olds, located on Canvey Island. The school was based in the town centre and opened in 1957 due to the increase of population on Canvey Island.

Welcome to Furtherwick Park School. We are a successful 11-16 mixed Secondary with student numbers of around 600, located in the heart of our community on a generous site with excellent sporting facilities.
Furtherwick Park School was opened in 1957 due to the need for more schools following the increase in pupil numbers. The school is to close in 2011 due they say to the decrease in pupil numbers on the Island.
By Lynn Taylor (08/09/2012) I was also one of the first pupils at Furtherwick School. I was there from 1957 to 1960′ I lived in Marine Parade, before moving to Elm Road, my family then moved nearer London to open up a shop. I was head girl of the school and seem to think the class teacher was Mr Daniels.
