Frei Paul Otto (Siegmar, hoy Chemnitz, Sajonia, 31 de mayo de 1925 - Warmbronn, Leonberg, 9 de marzo de 2015) [1] fue un arquitecto, profesor y teórico alemán. Su gran experiencia en construcción, mallas y otros sistemas de construcción le han dado un lugar entre los arquitectos más significativos del siglo XX .
Frei Otto fue un arquitecto e ingeniero alemán que se destacó por sus estructuras ligeras con membranas tensadas. Conocido por el Pabellón de Alemania Occidental en Montreal y el Estadio Olímpico de Munich, fue influenciado por la Bauhaus y el Estilo Internacional.
