Franz Peter Schubert (født 31. januar 1797 i Himmelpfortgrund (i dag en del af Wiens bydel Alsergrund), død 19. november 1828 i Wien) var en østrigsk komponist og pianist.. Schubert er mest kendt for sine lieder, af hvilke han i løbet af sit korte liv komponerede ca. 600.Han benyttede tekster af samtidige forfattere som Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, Heinrich Heine, Friedrich Rückert.
Franz Schubert wurde 1797 in der Nähe von Wien als Sohn eines Schulleiters geboren. Schon früh bemerkte Schuberts Vater sein musikalisches Talent und förderte es. So spielte Schubert schon früh sowohl Geige als auch Orgel.. Mit elf Jahren wurde er schließlich Teil der Wiener Hofkapelle, wo er als Sängerknabe sein Talent noch weiter entfalten konnte.
Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was an Austrian romantic composer and although he died at the age of 31, he was a prolific composer, having written some 600 lieder and nine symphonies. Life and Music Aged 10, the young Schubert won a place in the Vienna Imperial Court chapel choir and quickly gained a reputation as a budding composer with a set of facile string quartets.
15 de mar. de 2020 · Franz Liszt who did much to popularise Schubert’s music said of him “the most poetic musician who ever lived.” The output of Schubert included nearly 1,500 individual compositions, which included 615 songs, nine symphonies, 22 works for string quartet, 36 works for solo piano, 45 sacred works, 18 works for the stage, and over 200 other miscellaneous instrumental and vocal works.
