12 de may. de 2016 · Caldwell died on April 28, 1980, after lingering in critical condition at Spartanburg General Hospital for almost a week. Franklin Wilkie, a former bassist in Toy Caldwell’s pre-Marshall Tucker group, took over for Tommy – but the band never regained its commercial momentum.
The obvious choice for a replacement came in the form of Franklin Wilkie, a one-time member of The Toy Factory, and a life-long friend of the band. “We knew we would go on,” says Doug. “And Franklin Wilkie was the natural choice. We let Toy make the choice as to when we would hire Frank and when we would go out to play again.”
Dedicated is the eleventh studio album by the Marshall Tucker Band.
