Hace 4 días · In 1949, Frank MacFarlane Burnet introduced the concept of immune self, and launched the self-nonself theory (), which was largely inspired by transplantation experiments carried out by Medawar ().The theory suggested that elements of the body are self and do not induce an immune response, while foreign molecules are nonself and, thus, immunogenic.
