Scavullo, Francesco (b. 16 January 1921 in New York City; d. 6 January 2004 in New York City), fashion and portrait photographer.Scavullo was born on Staten Island, one of the five children of Angelo Carmelo Scavullo and Margaret (Pavis) Scavullo. I absolutely love his work because is so unique and his nudes are such art; and he was one of the mentors and a dear friend of my favorite supermodel Gia Carangi. Born in Staten Island, Scavullo began to pursue his fascination with images of beauty by picking up his father's camera and taking snapshots, using his sisters as models.
