François Maurice Adrien Marie Mitterrand pronúncia ( ?· pàg.) ( Jarnac, França, 26 d'octubre de 1916 - París, 8 de gener de 1996) [1] fou un polític francès que va esdevenir el 21è president de la República francesa i copríncep d'Andorra entre 1981 i 1995, en el mandat més longeu de la història de la República francesa.

Wyższy urzędnik Francji Vichy, a następnie uczestnik ruchu oporu.
François Maurice Adrien Marie Mitterrand (Jarnac, 26. listopada 1916. – Pariz, 8. siječnja 1996.), francuski političar, predsjednik Republike Francuske od 21. svibnja 1981. do 17. svibnja 1995. Član Socijalističke stranke. Mitterrandova politika za područje bivše Jugoslavije. Nakon pada komunizma oštro se protivio priznavanju Hrvatske i Slovenije, a poslije i Bosne i Hercegovine.
François Mitterrand was born on October 26, 1916, in the commune of Jarnac in southwestern France. Mitterrand’s social background did not make him a likely candidate to become the first left-wing head of state in the Fifth Republic. He grew up in a family that was bourgeois, Catholic and conservative, and attended a private religious school.
