François Leterrier (26 May 1929 – 4 December 2020) was a French director and actor. He was cast in Robert Bresson's movie A Man Escaped. He was born in Oise, France. He directed the 1961 movie Les Mauvais Coups. Leterrier died on 4 December 2020 in Paris at the age of 91.

Un roi sans divertissement is his second film, an interesting adaptation of a novel by the acclaimed author Jean Giono (who also wrote the film's screenplay).
