  2. Fireball Zone is not a good album. In fact, this may be me being harsh, but I think it's one of the worst albums I've ever heard. Aside from two or three decent tracks (notable standouts include "Rockaway" and "Come Back") the rest is either bland and forgettable, or sometimes outright dreadful.

  5. As a result, FIREBALL ZONE sounds more like Ric guesting on someone else's generic corporate-rock album than the Cars songwriter on his own. "Come Back" and "They Tried" stand out agreeably [this latter sounds like a DOOR TO DOOR outtake]; "Flowers of Evil" sounds more like Nile than Ric, but in a good way.

It didn’t generate a hit single like “ Emotion In Motion ” – in fact, the album didn’t even chart – but if you’ve followed Ocasek this far, there’s no reason to stop now.
