It’s artful and mysterious and it draws you in like a whispered conversation from across a dimly lit bar.
Eszter Balint released her new album Airless Midnight in late 2015. It was recorded at New York’s Brooklyn Recording and Richmond’s Montrose Recording, produced by JD Foster, and features Chris Cochrane, Marc Ribot, Dave Schramm on guitar as well as singer songwriter Sam Phillips on harmonies. Eszter has been very busy for the past few years.

Eszter Balint: I work a lot alone, I definitely lock myself into a solitary cave for quite a while with the material before bringing it out. In part it’s probably insecurity: I often feel a bit shy to present the material to the (truly amazing) musicians I work with, so I jump through all kinds of hoops alone to test if an idea works.
