Mr. Worthing is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Houston, Harris County. After completing Primary schooling in Michigan, he entered Texas A & M College in 1899. He played on the first football team to defeat the University of Texas.
Evan E. Worthing High School is a historic secondary school located in Houston’s southeast area. Its founder, Evan Edward Worthing, believed that every individual, including all African-American children should have access to quality education.
Evan E. Worthing Senior High School has established a tremendous reputation within the academic and social communities of the city of Houston during the last forty-six years.
