Joined by keyboardists Kevin Sutherland and Byron Byrd, guitarist Bill Jones, and original drummer Ernest Berger, the reborn Heatwave launched an American tour with a live album recorded at the Greek Theater in Hollywood, arriving in 1997.
Over the years we have seen member after member of the group pass, and today we’re sad to report the death, at age 72, of the final member of the original lineup of the group, the ever-smiling drummer, Ernest “Bilbo” Berger. The Czech native reportedly died of a heart attack.

2 de mar. de 2024 · Though few details are currently to hand, various sources are reporting the death of original Heatwave drummer ERNEST “BILBO” BERGER. Born in what was then Czechoslovakia, he played on all the band’s biggest hits. The news of his passing was announced by his wife Grace.
6 de oct. de 2015 · Ernest 'Bilbo' Berger. Most famous for the disco classic Boogie Nights, Heatwave had hit-after-disco-hit in the 1970s and early ’80s. British songwriter Rod Temperton was among the original line-up for the disco hit makers, and would famously go on to work with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones on Off The Wall.
