For many observers, The Yardbirds were midwives at the birth of popular garage rock and hard rock, while progressive rock and acid rock all owe their existence to the Yardbirds.
The Yardbirds are an English rock band, formed in London in 1963. The band started the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists: Eric Clapton (1963–1965), Jeff Beck (1965–1966) and Jimmy Page (1966–1968), all of whom ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists. Most songs on this album were written by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck or Jimmy Page, [2] and of the three guitarists, only Jimmy Page appears on every track, though not always in a lead role. Clapton was not present for the tracks featuring Jeff Beck, which were recorded with members of Cyril Davies ' band the Allstars.

15 de may. de 2014 · There, Yardbirds guitarists Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, The Who’s drummer Keith Moon, renowned session bassist John Paul Jones and keyboard player Nicky Hopkins recorded a sole track, Beck’s Bolero, that would precipitate Beck’s departure from The Yardbirds – and sow the seeds for Led Zeppelin.
12 de ene. de 2023 · Page became friends with future legend Eric Clapton, who was a member of The Yardbirds. As their careers took shape, it was Page who helped get Beck to take the place of Clapton. Beck was only with the Yardbirds for a year (per Britannica ), but he thanked Page for getting him the gig by gifting him a Fender Telecaster guitar.
