20 April. Eric started his 1977 Tour at DeMontfort Hall in Leicester. He was on the road through mid-October with concerts across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Spain, Hawaii and Japan. Eric had an extended break in May for the recording of his next album.

Eric performed the first night of his record-breaking 24 Nights at London's Royal Albert Hall. During his fifth and longest residency at the venue, Eric performed with a four-piece band, nine-piece band, blues band and full orchestra. All of the concerts were recorded for a live album and broadcast in their entirety by the BBC.
