Born February 25, 1950, Emitt Rhodes first made his mark on the Hawthorne, California music scene as drummer for The Emerals. Various sources, including the liner notes of "Listen, Listen: The Best of Emitt Rhodes", refer to the band as the "Emeralds". It was, in fact, The "Emerals."
