Elegy is the sixth studio album by John Zorn, which was dedicated to Jean Genet, featuring four "file card" compositions titled after colors and arranged in the style of chamber music.
Composed, recorded and originally released in Japan in 1992, Elegy is one of Zorn's most important "file-card" compositions. Drawing inspiration from the writings of Jean Genet, it creates a mysterious musical world of erotic perversion, blending rock, classical, improvisation and more.
