Earl Zebedee Hooker (January 15, 1930 – April 21, 1970) was a Chicago blues guitarist known for his slide guitar playing. Considered a "musician's musician", [2] he performed with blues artists such as Sonny Boy Williamson II , Junior Wells , and John Lee Hooker and fronted his own bands.

Earl Hooker was a blues guitarist and slide master from Chicago, a cousin of John Lee Hooker and a protege of Robert Nighthawk. He recorded for Sun Records, Chess Records and other labels, and influenced many other players. He died of tuberculosis in 1970.

1 de jun. de 2001 · Earl Hooker was a blues guitarist who played in a Delta style with a flair and flamboyance unmatched by any of his contemporaries. He was part of the Chicago scene but also had a fondness for Country and Western and jazz. He experimented with slide and wah-wah techniques, and used them to produce dazzling melodic patterns. He was John Lee Hooker's first cousin and a road-rambler.
