Carla Venita Thomas (born December 21, 1942) is an American singer, who is often referred to as the Queen of Memphis Soul. She is best known for her 1960s recordings for Atlantic and Stax including the hits " Gee Whiz (Look at His Eyes) " (1960), " B-A-B-Y " (1966) and "Tramp" (1967), a duet with Otis Redding .
The duet performance of “Call Me A Fool” is the most recent recording from Carla Thomas as she paired up with Valerie June. After it was released in January 2021, the song peaked at number twenty-four on the US Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay chart.
