I first took the role of Parent Governor in 2015 when my eldest son came to Dovedale Primary school. I now have two children in school, my youngest son starting in 2016. I wanted the opportunity to contribute to the decisions that shape the school and impact positively on parents, pupils and staff.

Reading Assembly. This wellbeing ambassador is an inspiration to all of our Dovedale children. She helped to lead an assembly on reading, using her own reading journey as an example for others to follow. She read out her prepared script, in front of 240 children, explaining how she managed to overcome the barrier of dyslexia to enjoying reading.
Welcome to our. webpage. At Dovedale w e are committed to promoting a love of reading and books, and we continually look for ways to improve standards in reading, phonics and writing. We are very excited to introduce our new phonics scheme, Read Write Inc. Read Write Inc. is a highly successful programme dedicated to ensuring that every child is able to read by the end of Key Stage 1.
At Dovedale Primary School, teaching PSHE and RSE is at the core of what we do. Our rich and exciting curriculum enables our children to become independent, confident, healthy and responsible members of society, as well as developing the “whole child” intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually.
