The Who had total of three drummers, Doug Sandom, Keith Moon and Kenney Jones. After the death of the group’s drummer Keith Moon in 1978 the band went on a hiatus after the release of the documentary ‘The Kids Are Alright’. In 1981 the Who released the album “Face Dances”, which featured Kenney Jones as the new drummer for the band.

Doug reveals that it was a fateful meeting with Helmut Gorden that would eventually lead him to leave the band. Helmut Gorden promised the band fame and fortune if they changed the drummer.

28 de feb. de 2019 · Doug Sandom, an early drummer for The Who, has died at the age of 89. Having initially been hired by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and John Entwistle in 1962 to play the drums in their early band The Detours, Sandom was later replaced by the infamous Keith Moon.
