Biographie. Né le 6 novembre 1941 à San Antonio, Doug Sahm participe dès l'âge de cinq ans à l'émission de radio Louisiana Hayride où il est guitariste d'accompagnement pour des artistes tels que Webb Pierce, Hank Thompson (en) ou Hank Williams 1. Il sort son premier album, A Real American Joe, sous le nom de Little Doug Sahm en 1955 1 .

Tragically, on November 18, 1999, Doug Sahm ‘s lifeless body was discovered in his hotel room. According to Tao’s police spokesman, Sahm may have died from natural causes, most probably a heart attack. Based on the autopsy report, Doug Sahm’s death was caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, otherwise known as a heart attack.
