  1. Charles Donald Alias, Sr., son of Eugene Alias and Violet Richardson, was born on December 25, 1939 in Harlem, New York. He departed this life on March 29, 2006 in his home at 340 East 90th Street, New York. Don received his education in Boston where he met and wedded Paulette Wilson.

He was 66. His death was announced by Melanie Futorian, his companion, who said the cause was under investigation.

  5. Don was a very special force who's musical vocabulary allowed him to walk easily within jazz, Latin, funk, rock -- his capability was virtually unlimited. And, he could interchange between hand percussion and drum set not matched by many others. He is missed. Terribly.
