Every track on this LP underscores a growing depth and maturity to Dickey Betts' songwriting, guitar playing, and in particular, his singing. This is a perfect LP for grabbing a cold one and a rolled one, sitting back in a comfortable chair, and giving a serious listen to it start to finish, with a little extra attention to Bougainvillea (last track on side 2).
The band’s magical chemistry was undeniable. Now in 2023 Great Southern is officially reuniting with Dickey’s blessing to carry on the iconic musical legacy of Dickey Betts & his music with The Allman Brothers Band. This band is the real deal, it’s not a tribute band, each musician was hand picked by Dickey.
