As half of the legendary R&B duo <B>Don & Dewey</B> (alongside <B>Don "Sugarcane" Harris</B>), Dewey Terry was responsible for numerous classic songs, and toured alongside <B>Jimi Hendrix</B> in <B>Little Richard's Band</B>.

  4. 15 de abr. de 2024 · Chief is a very eclectic album and much of it is not of interest to me. It's a mix of soul, jazz, blues, rock, and funk. Dewey Terry is from Los Angeles but this LP was released on the short-lived Tumbleweed label up the street in Denver, which is probably why I found it.

By 1956 the two were still together gigging as session musicians which is where Don got the nickname “Sugarcane” and became known for his unique electric violin work.

  6. Hace 4 días · Dewey Terry is from Los Angeles but this LP was released on the short-lived Tumbleweed label up the street in Denver, which is probably why I found it. Starts off in soul territory before moving into a rocker that reminded me of Jim Croce of all people.
