Derwent College is a college of the University of York, and alongside Langwith College was one of the first two colleges to be opened following the university's inception. It is named after the local River Derwent.
Derwent is one of York’s oldest colleges, located on Campus West and home to two Students' Union-run bars/cafes, as well as a dining hall. Our 1960s buildings feature a mix of room types in open corridor layouts which are great for socialising. Room types and prices 2024/25. Undergraduate. Postgraduate. Band 2 shared bathroom, catered.

Derwent is one of the two founding colleges at the university of York and was opened in 1965 by Queen Elizabeth II. Derwent has a proud history as a lively, social college in the heart of the Heslington campus. The college prides itself on its unique sense of community.
