Revered as one-half of Delaney & Bonnie, the duo which he cofounded with his then wife Bonnie Lynn O’Farrell, Bramlett influenced icons including Eric Clapton and George Harrison through his skilled guitar and slide guitar playing.

His mother taught him the guitar, and he moved out to Los Angeles in 1959 where he became a session musician, later joining Shindogs, the house band for the ABC-TV series Shindig! (1964-66), which also featured guitarist/keyboardist Leon Russell.
