Deicide (en español Deicidio del latín deicīda, «dícese de los que dieron muerte a un dios»), es una banda estadounidense de death metal originaria de Tampa, Florida, formada en 1987 por el vocalista y bajista Glen Benton, los hermanos y guitarristas Eric y Brian Hoffman, y el baterista Steve Asheim.
Deicide is an American death metal band formed in Tampa, Florida in 1987 by drummer/composer Steve Asheim and guitarist brothers Eric and Brian Hoffman as "Carnage", then hiring bassist/vocalist/lyricist Glen Benton and becoming "Amon". They would later change the band name to Deicide in 1989.
Death Metal. Themes: Satanism, Anti-Christianity, Blasphemy, Hatred. Current label: Reigning Phoenix Music. Years active: 1987 (as Carnage ), 1987-1989 (as Amon ), 1989-present. The band was originally called Amon, and recorded two demos under this name, which were later released on CD as Amon: Feasting the Beast.
