Sly and Robbie were a prolific Jamaican rhythm section and production duo, associated primarily with the reggae and dub genres. Drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare teamed up in the mid-1970s after establishing themselves separately in Jamaica as professional musicians. [2]

He's also the driving force behind some of reggae music's greatest innovations. He's changed the beat of reggae more than once. Most famously with the mid 70s “rockers” double drumming pattern at Channel One studios.
