Deborah Kaplan (born November 11, 1970) is an American screenwriter and film director.
Deborah Kaplan is a filmmaker who co-wrote and co-directed Can't Hardly Wait, Josie and the Pussycats, and Leap Year. She also created and directed Liza on Demand and Mary + Jane, and was married to actor Breckin Meyer.

Biography. Raised in Abington, Pennsylvania, Deborah Kaplan met her creative partner Harry Elfont while they were both enrolled at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University (NYU). They have since written several films together, and directed two: Can't Hardly Wait and Josie and the Pussycats.
