18 de dic. de 2019 · Deathsport (1978) came into existence for two reasons: One, to cash in on Death Race 2000 (1975) and, two, to hold David Carradine to his contract of making five films for producer Roger Corman. Carradine had signed that contract in an attempt to not only launch a movie career but go against the type he had created starring as Caine in the massively successful TV show Kung Fu.

Deathsport (1978) (Blu-ray) £15.00 GBP. Making its UK Blu-ray debut, DEATHSPORT: a Roger Corman-produced, futuristic-gladiators-on-motorcycles B-movie classic from 1978, starring David Carradine. One thousand years in the future, following the Great Neutron Wars, the world is divided into desert wastelands and isolated city states.
As it stands, we're treated to 82 minutes of confused storytelling that spends the entire first half torturing our two principal leads in the most bizarre ways imaginable. Perhaps Corman fans should skip the first half of the film and simply watch the actual "Deathsport" sequences instead. The film will likely play much better as a 40-minute short.
