  5. Davis Manning was a friend of my mom's, and growing up, was the first serious musician who gave me a shot. I was in love with him my whole childhood and told everyone that I was going to marry him someday. He passed recently, and I had been lamenting that I couldn't listen to any of his old Hip recordings.
