1 de jul. de 2000 · When he tired of doing the Buster Poindexter schtick full-time to audiences of sophisticated drunks, David went back to the dry look and his deep roots and came up with David Johansen and the Harry Smiths. The Harry Smiths are named after the legendary artist, filmmaker, occultist, anthropologist, and collector.
David Johansen and the Harry Smiths' Shaker is more than just a tribute to great blues legends and the infamous anthologist of folk music.
Shaker is the second and final album David Johansen recorded with the Harry Smiths. The album was released in 2002 by Chesky Records. The Harry Smiths personnel is the same as the band on the debut album, except for the drummer Keith Carlock, who replaced Joey Baron.
