David Henman is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who performs 100% original material. Originally from Nova Scotia, David was one of the founding membe rs of April Wine, along with his brother Ritchie, cousin Jim and surviving member Myles Goodwyn. David was with the band from its inception in 1969 until 1973.
Three of the founding members - David Henman (guitar), Ritchie Henman (drums), and their cousin Jim Henman (bass) - were originally in a band named Prism (not to be confused with the Vancouver-based band of the same name). After a brief break to attend university, the trio reformed with Myles Goodwyn on lead vocals and guitar.

It all began in Nova Scotia late in 1969. The Henman brothers, David and Ritchie, got together with their cousin Jim Henman and fellow musician Myles Goodwyn to form a band called April Wine, a name chosen simply because they were two words that sounded good together.
