Born near Stonehenge in England, David was mesmerised by music from an early age. Family musical influences include his Cornish grandmother, a pianist who also played organ in the local chapel, and his father, a Lightning aircraft engineer who played banjulele banjo, harmonica and golf(!) and sometimes built amplifiers in his spare time.

Mr David Goodier is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at OneWelbeck Orthopaedics and is widely-respected for his pioneering work on limb reconstruction and deformity correction treatment, using new techniques such as the llizarov frame and Taylor spatial frame.

He has been the bassist for the rock band Jethro Tull from 2007 until the band went on a hiatus in 2012, and again from 2017 when Ian Anderson started to tour again using the Jethro Tull name, with Goodier and keyboardist John O'Hara the only former Jethro Tull members to join Anderson.
