The band was formed in Medway, Kent, England, during 1975 by guitarist Dave Higgs (who had previously played in the Fix with Lee Brilleaux ), with drummer Steve Nicol, bassist Rob Steele, and singer Barrie Masters (born in Rochford, Essex; 4 May 1956 – 2 October 2019). [1] [2]

Formerly in the Fix with Dr. Feelgood singer Lee Brilleaux, Higgs put the band together as a charged up younger version of the pub rock scene that was raging in the smokey bars at the time.

31 de ago. de 2018 · The original band of Masters, Douglas, bassist Paul Gray, guitarist Dave Higgs and drummer Steve Nicol released 3 full length albums. Paul Gray left the band and joined The Damned in 1980. With Tony Cranney taking over bass duties the Rods released Fish N Chips for EMI in 1980, but by the end of 1981 the band was over.
