Dave Dennis is a Black civil rights activist, author, and educator who was born on this date in 1940. He is the son of a sharecropper and a sharecropper's daughter in Louisiana. He became involved in the civil rights movement through CORE and SNCC, and later opened a law firm and a nonprofit organization to improve minority children's mathematics education.
