Dark City fue una gran incomprendida en su momento. Quizá debido a lo inclasificable de su propuesta, quizá a que era demasiado reflexiva, introspectiva, con varias lecturas y propuestas filosóficas. Quizá era su estilo, deudor del cine negro más clásico, de habitaciones oscuras, humo de tabaco y olor a café.
