James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. [2] . The band went through a variety of line-up changes until they recorded their first album as a power trio consisting of Joe Walsh (guitars, lead vocals), Tom Kriss (bass) and Jim Fox (drums). Dale Peters replaced Kriss on bass for the band's second and third albums.
10 de ago. de 2020 · Bassist Dale Peters, who came aboard for the band’s definitive platter Rides Again (1970), was a versatile player who also composed, sang, and doubled on keys, guitar, and percussion. To my ears, Peters’ extended bass improve as heard on “Lost Woman” from Live In Concert (1971) proves that excess is not necessarily a bad thing!
26 de dic. de 2023 · Starring a 22-year-old singing, songwriting, officially amazing guitarist named Joe Walsh, the classic three-piece James Gang line-up – drummer James ‘Jimmy’ Fox, guitarist Walsh and bassist Dale Peters – only recorded three albums together (or four if you count their live album).
Dale Peters – bass, percussion, backing vocals; Jimmy Fox – drums, keyboards, percussion, backing vocals; James Gang Rides Again (1970) Thirds (1971) Live in Concert (1971) January 1972 – August 1973 Roy Kenner – lead vocals, harmonica, percussion; Domenic Troiano – guitar, backing vocals; Dale Peters – bass, percussion, backing vocals
Prior to the group’s second album’s recording sessions, Dale Peters took Kriss’ position, giving the James Gang its final line-up. Peters quickly proved to be the missing link, as proven by the band’s follow-up album, the legendary Rides Again from the 1970s, which gave birth to the rock classic “Funk #49.”
James Gang Rides Again (alternatively known as simply Rides Again) [1] is the second studio album by American rock band James Gang. The album was released on the label ABC Records. It is the James Gang's first album to feature bassist Dale Peters. Critical reception.
