Daevid’s work spans many media – he worked in music, film, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. His musical styles range from surreal jazz, hard rock, noise, acoustic and just about everything in between.
13 de mar. de 2015 · Daevid Allen was one of the founders of the British progressive rock band the Soft Machine in 1966. After recording just one album with the group, he became the founder/leader of Gong, which he left in 1973 to begin a solo career (though his first solo album, Banana Moon, was released in 1971 while he was still in the group).

His decision to forego treatment following the return of his cancer last year and let nature take its course seems typical of the man who had spent a lifetime in music seeing where things might take him; venturing off into the unknown on a great adventure was something Allen made a habit of.
