Cuckooland is the eighth studio album by jazz rock artist Robert Wyatt. It was released in 2003 on Hannibal Records. The artwork is by Alfreda Benge. The Wire named Cuckooland the record of the year in its annual critics' poll.
11 de may. de 2024 · “Cuckooland” es un álbum impregnado de una profunda melancolía y está repleto de melodías fascinantes, hermosas y emotivas, a caballo entre el pop y el jazz, con la característica y peculiar voz de Wyatt, entre infantil e ingenua, frágil y quebradiza.
Hay, además, algunas colaboradores de lujo como David Gilmour y Paul Weller (guitarras), y Brian Eno y Phil Manzanera en las voces. Sin olvidar la participación de la inseparable poetisa Alfreda Benge en el diseño de portada y arte interior, así como en algunos textos.
Rodeado de amigos y colaboradores (aquí desfilan Brian Eno, Paul Weller, David Gilmour y Phil Manzanera, entre otros) Wyatt construyó en "Cuckooland" otro pequeño carroussel de música mágica y curativa.
Brian Eno, David Gilmour and Phil Manzanera are the most prominant guests on the album but when you listen to this album there is no doubt that it´s Robert Wyatt that is the star. He is just incredibly talented and approach writing and playing music in a very unique fashion.

23 de dic. de 2003 · En “Cuckooland”, producido por Phil Manzanera y con las colaboraciones de amigos como Brian Eno, Paul Weller, David Gilmour o el anti-sionista israelí Gilad Atzmon, este antiguo estudiante de arte, amante del jazz y con la voz más triste que existe (según Ryuchi Sakamoto), vuelve a emocionarnos con sus dramáticas canciones.
