23 de dic. de 2003 · En “Cuckooland”, producido por Phil Manzanera y con las colaboraciones de amigos como Brian Eno, Paul Weller, David Gilmour o el anti-sionista israelí Gilad Atzmon, este antiguo estudiante de arte, amante del jazz y con la voz más triste que existe (según Ryuchi Sakamoto), vuelve a emocionarnos con sus dramáticas canciones.
El silencio comentado en el primer párrafo de este texto nos introduce en la segunda mitad del disco. Trickle Down es jazz de vanguardia y uno de los momentos más poderosos de Cuckooland, sumándose a la voz, la trompeta, el piano, los timbales y los "juguetes de Eno" de Wyatt la voz de Phil Manzanera, el contrabajo de Yaron Stavi, el trombón de Annie Whitehead y los samples robados al saxo ...
Wyatt seems to have found finally the perfect formula for creating his unique music: using his wife's poetry as lyrics and cooperating with Jazz (this time notably with two Israelis – saxophonist Gilad Atzmon and bassist Yaron Stavi) and Rock veterans like Brian Eno, David Gilmour and Phil Manzanera.
