24 de may. de 2014 · CUBIE BURKE – youngest member of 60s/70s soul group THE STAIRSTEPS – died on Wednesday 14th May. He was 49 and it’s believed that his death was as a result of a brain injury he’d suffered some years ago.
The Five Stairsteps, known as "The First Family of Soul" and later "The Invisible Man's Band", were an American Chicago soul group made up of five of Betty and Clarence Burke Sr.'s six children: Alohe Jean, Clarence Jr., James, Dennis, and Kenneth "Keni", and briefly, Cubie.

Cubie Edwin Burke (b. 8th November 1964, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. d. 14th May 2014, Smyrna, Georgia, U.S.A.) The Stairsteps were discovered and produced by Curtis Mayfield, this young quintet enjoyed a consistent run of R & B chart success, with releases on the Windy C, Curtom and Buddah labels.

26 de feb. de 2021 · Cubie Edwin Burke, born November 8, 1964, was raised in Inglewood, New Jersey and began performing with his family’s music group “The Five Stairsteps and Cubie ” as early as sixteen months old. The group, in which Cubie played the drums and danced, recorded and released hits from 1968 to 1969.
