"The Pied Piper" is a pop song written by the duo The Changin' Times, consisting of Steve Duboff and Artie Kornfeld, who first recorded it in 1965.Their version reached #87 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, when British pop singer Crispian St. Peters recorded it, he scored a major hit during the summer of 1966. It went to #4 in the United States, #5 in the United Kingdom, and #1 in Canada.

Crispian St. Peters. English pop singer and songwriter, born 5 April 1939 in Swanley, Kent, England, died 8 June 2010 in Kent, England. His peak of success came in the late 60s and he continued to perform until bad health forced him to retire in 2001.

This was the biggest charting success of Crispian St. Peters, and one of only two Top-40 hits in his career - the other one was "You Were On My Mind," which made #36 in the US and #2 on the UK charts in 1967. He was born Robin Peter Smith.
