Set in 1989, Craig Macneill's psychological character study The Boy is a hell of a hard watch. I can fully understand that this would probably be pretty disappointing if you've come here looking for a serial killer kid flick and end up grinding thru 105 minutes of watching this kid walking around picking up road kill, trying to "fake smile" in mirrors and kicking the shit out of chickens.
