Vetiver is named after an Indian grass that now inhabits California and is the child of Andy Cabic. The original line-up was Anderson, Cabic, and Gaylord, but in 2003 the trio was joined by now-famous folk singer Devendra Banhart. Vetiver blends minimalist folk with sparse pop melodies that back Cabic's thin and intimate vocals.

For over a decade Vetiver has essentially been the vehicle for Andy Cabic to gently pursue his own form of understated musical exploration.
