Colin Hanton was drummer for the Quarrymen, the pre-Beatles group featuring John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. And he has a fan in Tampa Bay attorney Mark Bentley, who's produced "Pre Fab," a documentary about the Liverpool musician.
The Quarrymen (also written as " the Quarry Men ") are a British skiffle / rock and roll group, formed by John Lennon in Liverpool in 1956, [2] which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. Originally consisting of Lennon and several school friends, the Quarrymen took their name from a line in the school song of their school, the Quarry Bank High School.
Colin Hanton and Colin Hall were both Liverpool born and bred. Colin Hanton was born in 1938 and became the drummer in John Lennon's very first group, The Quarry Men. He drummed for three years between 1956-1959, during which time Paul McCartney and George Harrison joined the band.
