The Noel Redding Band (also known as The Clonakilty Cowboys after the title of its first album, Clonakilty Cowboys) was an English-Irish folk rock supergroup that was formed in Clonakilty, County Cork, in 1974.
Clonakilty Cowboys is the first album by the English-Irish folk rock band The Noel Redding Band. Released in 1975, the album is named after Clonakilty, from where the band was formed.
Noel David Redding (Folkestone, Kent, Inglaterra, 25 de diciembre de 1945 – Clonakilty, County Cork, Irlanda, 11 de mayo de 2003) fue un músico británico, conocido por ser el bajista de The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Redding was found dead in his home in Clonakilty on 11 May 2003, three weeks after the death of his mother. A postmortem was carried out on 13 May at Cork University Hospital in Wilton, Cork. The report concluded that Redding died from "shock haemorrhage due to oesophageal varices in reaction to cirrhosis of the liver". [20]
