Clive Bell was a British art critic and philosopher who developed a theory of art based on the concept of significant form. He influenced by G.E. Moore's ethics and Roger Fry's aesthetics, he wrote Art to explain what significant form is and how it connects us with the real. He also reviewed modern British art and criticized the craft-making stage of culture.
