Clement Richard Attlee (Putney, Londres, 3 de enero de 1883-Westminster, 8 de octubre de 1967) fue un destacado político británico, líder del Partido Laborista entre 1935 y 1955 y primer ministro del Reino Unido entre 1945 y 1951.

Clement Richard Attlee fue un político británico que fue primer ministro de 1945 a 1951, líder del Partido Laborista y defensor de una política socialdemócrata. Nacido en 1883, fue abogado, militante laborista y alcalde de Stepney. Fue elegido diputado en 1919 y colaboró con Ramsay MacDonald hasta 1931, cuando rompió con él. Se convirtió en líder del Partido Laborista en 1935 y se opuso a la actitud pacifista de Churchill. Tras la guerra, criticó la actitud de Hitler y propugnó la intervención británica en la Guerra Civil española.
